The Goal:
So, this blog is going to be a diary of a sort. I'm interested in reducing my "footprint," if you will, but still find myself bad at doing things like recycling paper. So I'm going to try to go full-on in the direction of waste reduction: I'm going to try to reduce the amount of trash I throw away to zero. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to do this. Waste, and trash, are not something I spend much time thinking about; now, under this new system, I'm going to be thinking about them all the time. Or, at least, all the time until it becomes second nature, which I hope it will become.
What I'm going to cover in this blog is the process that I use to reduce my waste output as low as it can get. There are a few obvious places to start; I'll cover those as they come up. It strikes me that the best way to reduce my waste to the lowest point possible is to acquire the smallest amount of throwaway things, and when I do acquire throwaways, to use them again and again for as long as I can.
Hopefully I can do this, and do this without getting preachy. Thanks for coming by, and if you're interested in the same things, I hope that something that I come up with will be inspiring. If you're trying the same thing, please leave a comment if you think of something I haven't - I'd love to see what other people are doing to reduce their waste down as close to zero as possible.
The adventure starts in earnest on April first, but I'll be starting now with some small things.
Thanks for visiting!
